"The creator of our bay must have been a sailor"
The bay itself is known for world championships and as one of the best sailing areas in Europe.
Beginners will find safe and protected conditions. Further out, advanced skiers experience wind and waves that make the heart beat faster. The famous circumnavigator Sir Francis Chichester described the bay of Pollensa as one of the most beautiful ever! It is 10 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide and surrounded on three sides by mountains - dangerous seas remain locked out.
The wind conditions are ideal, in summer a steady sea breeze builds up in the morning due to the thermals, which lasts until the afternoon. Even outside the summer months, when the wind can blow rougher, you will find optimal sailing conditions in the inner bay, which is protected by a headland.
